It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Aurora ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They beat the Nebraska City Pioneers by a goal, winning 2-1. Aurora haven't had any issues with Nebraska City recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Adrianna Brei and Hannah Janda scored both of Aurora's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Aurora picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Nebraska City, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Aurora will challenge rival Westview on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Nebraska City is set to square off against their familiar foe Ralston on Tuesday.
