Baseball Recap: Desert Christian Comes Up Short

Desert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Bisbee Pumas, falling 15-5. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Pumas from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Desert Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Esquerra, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Esquerra has posted since back in April of 2024. Ethan Craig also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Bisbee, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Desert Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Santa Rita at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bisbee will square off against rival Tombstone at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bisbee 2.6, Tombstone 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
