Softball Recap: Shoals Christian Comes Up Short

Shoals Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Athens Bible Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 back in March.

Shoals Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah May, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Charlee Quimby also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Shoals Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Athens Bible, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Shoals Christian and Athens Bible will both be playing Covenant Christian the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Flame will head out to face them at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
