Baseball Recap: West Boca Raton Victorious

West Boca Raton's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Olympic Heights Lions by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 back in February.

West Boca Raton got a great performance from Gavin Russell as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Russell a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alejandro Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Derek Godfrey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

West Boca Raton's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Olympic Heights, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, West Boca Raton will square off against Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympic Heights, they will challenge Santaluces at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
