Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Takes a Loss

Tocoi Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors. That's two games in a row now that the Toros have lost by exactly five runs.

Tocoi Creek got a good showing from Bryson Williams, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tocoi Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sizemore, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Tocoi Creek's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Tocoi Creek and Trinity Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Tocoi Creek (ranked 104th) will meet Orange Park (ranked 501st) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy will challenge Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday up 177 places (6 vs. 183).
