Basketball Recap: Zachary Meister's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Classical Academy over Pacific Ridge

After flying high against Guajome Park Academy last Friday, Classical Academy came back down to earth. The Classical Academy Caimans received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 57-39 to the Pacific Ridge Firebirds. While losing is never fun, the Caimans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1140th, while the Firebirds are ranked 503rd).

Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachary Meister, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Davis, who had six points.

Classical Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Pacific Ridge, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Classical Academy has already played their next game, a 68-45 win against Orange Glen on the 31st. As for Pacific Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-35 victory against Guajome Park Academy on the 31st.
