Basketball Recap: Pueblo South Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Pueblo South won the last time they faced Pueblo East and things went their way on Friday too. The Pueblo South Colts walked away with a 44-31 win over the Pueblo East Eagles. The victory was some much needed relief for the Colts as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pueblo South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caeden Herrera, who posted four points and 13 boards. Kade Ortiz was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pueblo South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Pueblo East had strong showings from Enzo Pecoraro, who put up seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Mj Delgado, who earned nine points. Delgado continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Pueblo South's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Pueblo East, they moved to 10-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Pueblo South has already played their next match, a 75-37 victory against Pueblo Centennial on the 28th. Pueblo East has also already played their next game (against Pueblo Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
