Baseball Recap: Russell's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Russell posted their closest win since April 27, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Betsy Layne Bobcats 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jacob Toliver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
