Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durango). They strolled past the Shiprock Chieftains with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 52-36.

Leading Durango to victory were Ryne Neiman and Claire Goodwin. Neiman went 5-for-7 en route to 15 points and seven boards, while Goodwin shot 47% from the field to rack up 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Goodwin has scored at least a third of the Demons' points. Another player making a difference was Aysia Matthews, who posted five points.

Durango's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Shiprock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Durango has already played their next matchup, a 51-49 defeat against Grants on the 18th. As for Shiprock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-30 loss against Farmington on the 17th.
