Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Marvin Ridge's Third in Last Four Outings

Marvin Ridge won the last time they faced Porter Ridge, and Brady Dunn did his part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Marvin Ridge Mavericks' way against the Porter Ridge Pirates on Tuesday as the Marvin Ridge Mavericks made off with a 74-54 win thanks in part to Dunn, who went 9 for 15 from beyond the arc on his way to 31 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Smith, who posted 15 points and five assists. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Marvin Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Porter Ridge, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Marvin Ridge will head out to face off against Cuthbertson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Porter Ridge, they will square off against Weddington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weddington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Porter Ridge likes a good challenge.
