Soccer Recap: Collegiate Takes Down Ranked Midlothian

Collegiate faced Midlothian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Trojans. Collegiate's winning goal came courtesy of Francesca Ascari.

Collegiate pushed their record up to 13-0-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight matches. As for Midlothian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, Collegiate will host Trinity Episcopal at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midlothian, they will square off against Powhatan at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
