Recap: Bishop Montgomery Knights vs. Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles
On Friday, The Bishop Montgomery Knights got themselves on the board against the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles, but the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles never followed suit. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 47-0 win over the Eagles. Bishop Montgomery pushed the score to 40-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Verbum Dei Jesuit had no chance of recovering from.
Bishop Montgomery was led to victory by Joseph Gutierrez (tony) and Cameron Brewer. Gutierrez (tony) threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Brewer picked up 184 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Martinez, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Bishop Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 5-4. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Bishop Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Verbum Dei Jesuit is also done with their season.
