Softball Preview: Mid Valley Spartans vs. West Scranton Invaders        
        
		
            
 The Mid Valley Spartans have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome the West Scranton Invaders at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mid Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2  runs per game  this season, so West Scranton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 Mid Valley can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent  game  on Wednesday. They never let Lakeland onto the board and left with  a   15-0  victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Mid Valley considering their two-run performance the  match before.
  Ava Hazelton looked comfortable as she  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Natalie Barrett was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, nine  RBI,  and three  runs while going 3-for-3.  Chiara Zavislak was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, West Scranton suffered a  tough 9-3 loss at the hands of Wallenpaupack Area  on Saturday.
 Mid Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for West Scranton, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 0-1.
 Everything went Mid Valley's way against West Scranton when the teams last played  back in March of 2016 as Mid Valley made off with  a  9-1 victory. Does  Mid Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Scranton turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
