Volleyball Game Preview: Richlands Wildcats vs. Jacksonville Cardinals

Richlands is 2-7 against Jacksonville since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wildcats will take on the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Richlands came up short against Northside - Jacksonville and fell 3-1. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Monarchs 25-17 in the first set.

Richlands started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past White Oak 3-0 on Tuesday.

While Jacksonville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 27-25.

Jacksonville's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Richlands, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Richlands couldn't quite get it done against Jacksonville in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
