Baseball Game Preview: Neshannock Lancers vs. Freedom Area Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Neshannock will face off against Freedom Area. The Lancers will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neshannock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

Neshannock took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Freedom Area with a sharp 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Jake Rynd was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rynd was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Anthony Eakin was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Matt Pallerino was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Neshannock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Neshannock pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Freedom Area's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Neshannock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.5 hits per game.
