Softball Recap: Tanque Verde's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Tanque Verde entered their tilt with Sunnyslope on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Vikings 13-5. Considering the Hawks have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sara Hoagland was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Aubrey Cantalicio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Tanque Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunnyslope only posted an OBP of .435.

Tanque Verde's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Sunnyslope, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Coming up, Tanque Verde will head out to challenge Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tanque Verde is facing Sahuaro at the right time seeing as Sahuaro is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sunnyslope, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-7 victory against Blue Ridge on the 22nd.
