Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Westlake walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Alta Loma Lions on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Athletics as they're now sitting on three straight.

Rocco Cortell looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Westlake's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Alta Loma, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7-1.

Looking ahead, Westlake will take on Bishop Alemany at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta Loma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
