Volleyball Recap: Dos Palos Takes Down Orcutt Academy in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dos Palos had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Orcutt Academy Spartans.

Dos Palos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kodi Gonzales, who had 29 digs and three aces. Gonzales has been hot, having posted 18 or more digs the last five times she's played. Hailey Portillo was another key player, getting 17 assists and 16 digs.

Dos Palos is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-16-1 record this season. As for Orcutt Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Dos Palos will head out to square off against Torres at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
