Football Game Preview: Citizens Christian Academy Patriots vs. Crisp Academy Wildcats

The Citizens Christian Academy Patriots will take on the Crisp Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Citizens Christian Academy has five straight victories, Crisp Academy has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Citizens Christian Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Covenant Academy, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Citizens Christian Academy was ranked 11th). The Patriots simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rams 35-0. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Citizens Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Bo Roberts, who picked up four sacks and made six total tackles. Dalton Rogers also rushed for 112 rushing yards, which is notable because the Patriots are undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Citizens Christian Academy's run defense was locked in: Covenant Academy could only muster two yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Roberts stood above the rest. He picked up four sacks and made six total tackles. Citizens Christian Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.

Citizens Christian Academy's defense also made the game a nightmare for Ethan Mills, racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Roberts and Damian Duran, who racked up six sacks between them. Duran has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Crisp Academy's offense. They were outmatched by Vidalia Heritage Academy and fell 57-0.
