Football Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Morristown-Hamblen East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Riley McClellan looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 179 yards while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 20 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Morristown-Hamblen East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Morristown-Hamblen East and Morristown-Hamblen West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Hurricanes will face off against Science Hill on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (220 vs. 40). Meanwhile, Morristown-Hamblen West (ranked 150th) will meet West Ridge (ranked 47th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
