Volleyball Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Wimberley Texans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Leopards of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9.

Wimberley was led to victory by Carson Peoples and Skylar Herring. Peoples had seven assists and five aces, while Herring had nine assists. Those five aces gave Peoples a new career-high.

Gainesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wimberley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Gainesville will challenge Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wimberley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Smithville on the 14th.
