The Riverview Gardens Rams got the win against the Gateway Tech Jaguars on Monday by a conclusive 14-5. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Timothy Williams Jr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cormex Birdon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was David Graden lll, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Riverview Gardens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Riverview Gardens' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Gateway Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Gardens will square off against McCluer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
