Baseball Game Preview: Palmyra Cougars vs. Donegal Indians

The Palmyra Cougars will challenge the Donegal Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Palmyra comes in on three and Donegal on five.

Palmyra proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lower Dauphin, sneaking past 4-2.

Adam Strohecker was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Donegal earned a 7-2 win over Garden Spot on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Chase Cornelius, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hudson Fenicle, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Donegal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Palmyra's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Donegal, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Palmyra has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. However, it's not like Donegal struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Palmyra's way against Donegal when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Palmyra made off with a 16-4 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
