Basketball Recap: Classical Prep Triumphs

Classical Prep entered their tilt with Riverside Christian on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They pulled ahead with a 40-39 photo finish over the Riverside Christian Wranglers.

Classical Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Haley Zimmerman out in front who went 6 for 13 en route to 15 points along with six boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Zimmerman a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Malloy, who posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals.

Classical Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Classical Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Riverside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
