Baseball Game Preview: Berea Bulldogs vs. Carolina Academy Trojans

For the second straight game, Berea will face off against Carolina Academy. The Bulldogs will challenge the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Berea has lost five straight at home , while Carolina Academy has lost eight on the road (dating back to last season).

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Berea turned things around against Carolina Academy on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Trojans. The Bulldogs' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Caidon Center made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Center was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Jakob Weaver was a standout: he scored a run while going 3-for-5. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season. Semaj Marzett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Berea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Carolina Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Berea, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
