Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethany Christian). They breezed by the South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers to the tune of 49-13 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bruins as it put an end to their 15-game losing streak.

Leading Bethany Christian to victory were Kendra Kern and Karlee Crume. Kern went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Crume dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Crume has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ellie Morris, who posted six points and four steals.

Bethany Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bethany Christian's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-15. As for South Bend Career Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethany Christian will head out to take on Hamilton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Bend Career Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Wayne Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
