Basketball Game Preview: St. Joseph Bears vs. Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants

St. Joseph is 2-8 against Kalamazoo Central since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The St. Joseph Bears will face off against the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, St. Joseph came up short against Edwardsburg and fell 45-32. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 44-40 to Gull Lake. The Maroon Giants have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Kalamazoo Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

St. Joseph skirted past Kalamazoo Central 36-34 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
