Football Recap: Huge Rushing Attack Leads Monte Vista over Amador Valley + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Monte Vista walked away with it. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Amador Valley Dons on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Dons two weeks ago, they had to take a 35-14 loss.

Torin Dunphy had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 148 yards and two scores. He has become a key player for Monte Vista: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Monte Vista was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amador Valley only rushed for 127.

Despite the loss, Amador Valley still got an impressive performance from Vincent Maiorana, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Maiorana's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards.

Monte Vista now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Amador Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Monte Vista didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-21 victory against California on the 21st. Amador Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
