Softball Recap: Calhoun Warriors vs. Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calhoun). They put the hurt on the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes with a sharp 20-1 win on Monday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tornadoes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Audrey Gilman and Layla Longnecker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gilman struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Longnecker tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Gilman scored three runs while going 1-for-3, while Longnecker scored a run while going 1-for-1.
