Baseball Game Preview: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos

The McCutcheon Mavericks will square off against the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, McCutcheon didn't have quite enough to beat Western and fell 8-7. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jake Winger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Lafayette Jefferson came up short against North Montgomery on Saturday and fell 7-4. The loss continues a trend for the Bronchos in their meetings with the Chargin' Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Ben Pickering made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lafayette Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for McCutcheon, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.

McCutcheon skirted past Lafayette Jefferson 7-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Bronchos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
