Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Miners vs. Southern Rams

The Mountain Ridge Miners will challenge the Southern Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountain Ridge lost 3-0 to Somerset on Monday. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Somerset scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Southern came up short against Fort Hill on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Rams have struggled against the Sentinels recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 14-25, 25-22.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Mountain Ridge, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Mountain Ridge's way against Southern in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Mountain Ridge made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Miners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
