Baseball Recap: Granger Takes a Loss

Granger fell victim to Timpview and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timpview Thunderbirds. The Lancers just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row dating back to last season.

Hugo Cubillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Granger saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Spicer, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Timpview, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granger will challenge Skyline at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timpview, they will venture away from home to face off against Hunter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
