Volleyball Game Preview: Minden Whippets vs. Cozad Haymakers

Minden is a perfect 10-0 against Cozad since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Whippets will look to defend their home court against the Haymakers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Minden was able to grind out a solid victory over Broken Bow, taking the game 2-0. The Whippets haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

While Minden might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Broken Bow scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Cozad earned a 2-0 victory over Valentine on Saturday.

Cozad never let Valentine on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18.

Cozad's win bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Minden, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.

Everything went Minden's way against Cozad in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Minden made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Whippets repeat their success, or do the Haymakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
