Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Brunswick

Brunswick waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Euclid Panthers as they made off with a 21-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Wednesday.

Kiley Williams made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Gabbie Diamond and Addison Compton did most of the damage at the plate: Diamond went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Compton scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That double marked the first that Diamond hit this season. Another player making a difference was Madison Miller, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Brunswick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Euclid, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brunswick will take on Pickerington North at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Euclid, they will welcome Brooklyn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
