Softball Game Preview: Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets vs. Southwest EC Eagles

For the second straight game, Palo Verde Valley will face off against Southwest EC. The Yellow Jackets will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palo Verde Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Palo Verde Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on April 14th, they were much more limited against Southwest EC on Tuesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Palo Verde Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yasleen Reyes, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Southwest EC's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Palo Verde Valley, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
