Softball Recap: Oakwood's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Oakwood came into Friday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Centerville Tigers by a score of 6-1 on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-14 back in March.

Oakwood's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaslen Milligan, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Aubrey Crowder was another, scoring a run and stealing a base.

Oakwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Oakwood's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Centerville, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Coming up, Oakwood will square off against Normangee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakwood is facing Normangee at the right time seeing as Normangee is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Centerville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Slocum at 6:00 p.m. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
