Basketball Game Preview: Mead Mavericks vs. Longmont Trojans

Mead and Longmont are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Mead Mavericks will welcome the Longmont Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Longmont likes a good challenge.

Mead is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Horizon just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 82-58. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Hawks are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Longmont played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Legacy 79-43. The Trojans were down 59-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Mead's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-7. As for Longmont, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.
