Baseball Recap: Evansville Harrison Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Evansville Harrison and Evansville North squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Evansville Harrison had to settle for second. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.

Mason Baker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jay Sutton, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Evansville Harrison has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Evansville North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Evansville Harrison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Evansville North, they will face off against Seymour on Saturday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
