The Westside Rams will challenge the Camden Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Westside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
Westside heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Thursday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fountain Inn. The Rams' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Amelia Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Starlyn Clardy, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Camden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Dreher on Thursday.
Maddie Stokes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Haydin Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Kennedy, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.
Camden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dreher only posted a batting average of .194.
Camden is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .444. However, it's not like Camden struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
