Football Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They had to suffer through a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Manual Thunderbolts. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Commanders of the 38-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Manual, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points over those games.

A big part of Manual's win came down to the chemistry between Caylei Walker and her top target Malaysia Thompson. Walker threw for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Thompson gained 220 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Thompson a new career-high in receiving yards (106). Dayjah Fox was in the mix as well, providing Manual with two scores.

Coming up, Kennedy will head out on the road to take on Regis Groff at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manual, they have already played their next game, a 38-6 victory against Monarch on the 20th.
