Softball Game Preview: Everett Alvarez Eagles vs. King City Mustangs

The Everett Alvarez Eagles will take on the King City Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Everett Alvarez has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 2.

Everett Alvarez fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Soledad on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 14-11 to the Aztecs.

Makayla Delrosario spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and eight unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, Amaris Perez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Alyssa Contreras was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, King City fell victim to North Salinas and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

King City's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Everett Alvarez, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
