Softball Recap: Gladstone Gladiators vs. Stayton Eagles

Gladstone's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Stayton Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Gladiators as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ashlynne Franssen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 19 Ks. Those 19 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Gabriella Gunderson was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Brooke Marshall also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
