Basketball Preview: Rahway Indians vs. Weequahic Indians
The Rahway Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Weequahic Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Rahway is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Thursday, Rahway didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Comets, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.
Meanwhile, Weequahic came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past University with a 65-60 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Weequahic can attribute much of their success to Bart Jordan, who scored 20 points, and Tyhir Barlow, who scored 23 points.
Rahway's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Weequahic, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything came up roses for Rahway against the Indians in their previous matchup back in February of 2020 as the team secured a 85-55 win. Will Rahway repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
