Baseball Recap: Hercules Comes Up Short

Hercules extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Oakland Tech Bulldogs, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

As for Oakland Tech, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 11 runs.

For Oakland Tech's part, Elias Thompson got the start for Oakland Tech and what a start it was: he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Thompson has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sebastian Godinez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kalen Thomas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hercules will square off against Concord at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakland Tech, they will challenge Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
