Basketball Recap: Forest Park Takes a Loss

Forest Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They were dealt a 79-17 defeat at the hands of the Jackson Jaguars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-6 back in December of 2024.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Aubrielle Labeaud and Karisma Davis, who each put up two points.

Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaliyah Weaver led the charge by going 5 of 7 en route to 13 points. Journey Conley was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Forest Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Jackson, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Forest Park Panthers face off against the M.L. King Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Park is facing M.L. King at the right time seeing as M.L. King is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Jackson, they will be playing at home against Pace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
