Preview: Fort Bend Dulles Vikings vs. Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs
Fort Bend Dulles is 2-8 against Fort Bend Austin since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fort Bend Dulles Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Fort Bend Dulles has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
Last Tuesday, Fort Bend Dulles took a serious blow against Fort Bend Clements, falling 85-43. While losing is never fun, Fort Bend Dulles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Fort Bend Clements is ranked sixth).
Even though Fort Bend Austin has not done well against Fort Bend Hightower recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fort Bend Austin snuck past Fort Bend Hightower with a 64-59 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fort Bend Austin.
Fort Bend Dulles has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season. As for Fort Bend Austin, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-19.
Fort Bend Dulles came up short against Fort Bend Austin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-50. Can Fort Bend Dulles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
