Baseball Game Preview: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Boiling Springs Bulldogs

James F. Byrnes and Boiling Springs are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. James F. Byrnes will be playing at home against Boiling Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. James F. Byrnes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

James F. Byrnes made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Gaffney, but they still couldn't quite topple them. James F. Byrnes put the hurt on Gaffney with a sharp 16-3 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Jaxson Camp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because James F. Byrnes is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Camp was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, James F. Byrnes let Jake Moss and Connor Crenshaw run wild. Moss scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Crenshaw scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave Crenshaw a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Collins, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

James F. Byrnes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Boiling Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 9-4 to Dorman.

James F. Byrnes has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. Boiling Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went James F. Byrnes' way against Boiling Springs in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as James F. Byrnes made off with a 12-3 victory. Will James F. Byrnes repeat their success, or does Boiling Springs has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
