After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tuscaloosa County, Prattville Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Pike Road Patriots as Prattville Christian Academy made off with a 12-4 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Prattville Christian Academy got a great performance from Alivia Messick as she pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Messick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Prattville Christian Academy let Chloe Hollon and Sara Payton Schmidt run wild. Hollon scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Schmidt got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Hollon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caralee Janes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Prattville Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pike Road only posted an OBP of .318.
Prattville Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. Prattville Christian Academy (ranked 38th) will meet Montgomery Catholic (ranked 195th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pike Road will challenge Montgomery Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday up 216 places (137 vs. 353).
