Softball Recap: Nazareth Area Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Nazareth Area entered their tilt with Pocono Mountain West on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-1. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Avery Kauffman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianna Perillo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Lily Moretti also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Nazareth Area's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.
