Softball Recap: Southridge Raiders vs. Evansville Reitz Panthers

After flying high against Princeton on Friday, Southridge came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Evansville Reitz Panthers by a score of 9-8 on Saturday. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kenley Ferguson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kori Hunefeld, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Southridge's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Evansville Reitz, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Coming up, Southridge will face off against Evansville Mater Dei at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Evansville Reitz, they will challenge Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
